Services and Fees
Medical Services are organized in a book called the C.P.T. Manual,
which stands for current procedural terminology. It is updated with
new categories and deletes others once each year.
Services are divided into Evaluation-Management codes and Treatment
codes. The insurance companies use these codes.
Evaluation and Management includes taking a history of the
complaint, examination, making a diagnosis and suggesting a plan of
treatment. The office visit code used depends upon the amount of time
spent with the patient (5-60 Minutes), the extent of the examination
performed at the visit, and the complexity and degree of difficulty
involved in decision making. Patient education and counseling are
included in this fee.
Treatment codes are used to indicate which procedures are performed
and which modalities of therapy are applied. These would include
hot/cold packs, therapeutic exercises, massage, manipulation, and
acupuncture.
Dr. Abromovitz is currently a "provider" for Medicare. The office
will submit your treatment codes and fees by computer to Medicare.
They will determine your benefits and send a check to your address.
Medicare may forward to the secondary supplement insurance carrier
this information, and if so, you will receive a check for the coverage
you have purchased on the plan.
We accept cash, check, Visa, and Mastercharge. Payment is expected
at the time of service.
An itemized printout of each visit will be given to you. This has
all the necessary information about your care and treatment, and can
be submitted to your health insurance company. Any benefits will be
sent directly to you.
Fees for correspondence with insurance companies and attorneys
are billed separately. Medicare does not currently pay for Acupuncture.
Cancellations: Office and therapy visits must be cancelled
24 hours before the appointment. With less than 24 hours notice, we
will schedule another patient at your appointment time if possible.
You will be charged for the visit if we are unable to fill your appointment.
